I have re-established this blog for the Direct Democracy Center so that people can post their imput and ask questions about the issues that confront us, and about direct democracy. We need direct democracy now more than ever. Our future will undoubtedly depend on it.

The war against terror is being compromised by politics as usual, escalated into a political party war between Democrats and Republicans. The Democratic Party has been compromised by far left activists. The Republican Party is transforming into a tax and spend party, nearly as bad as the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party, supported by the complicit news media and entertainment industry, undermined the efforts in Iraq with relentless bad news, which emboldened al Qaida terrorists to create civil war and cost more lives. The propaganda effort paid off for Democrats in the 2006 election. They took power in the House and Senate. Their efforts continue to undermine efforts in Iraq so they can gain presidential power in the 2008 election. We simply cannot trust self-corrupting politics and the two-party system.

the problem with direct democracy is that.... OUR FOUNDING FATHERS HATED THE IDEA. Benjamin Franklin himself said that we as a nation are a republic and ought to be. In a direct demopcracy where the people are the government the people can vote themselves anything they want. This "Lets turn into a direct democracy" thing is ludicris and if it happens, it will mark the downfall of AMERICA.

But no disrespect

"the people will vote themselves anything they want" Not necessarily so. Would you vote for "1000 dollars for every citizen and put it on the national debt"? I don't think it would pass. Neither would all the pork that the present system generates.

"The founding fathers hated the idea" Not all of them. And what is the basis of the claim that is will cause the "downfall of America"?

Amendment (direct democracy)

Congress is to be the direct representative of their constituents. All constituents will be granted reasonable access to research, information, communications and means (computer access) to cast votes. The constituent majority vote will be the vote of the elected congressman or congresswoman. The constituents will decide which bills will be voted on and there will be no earmarks in the bills.

Objective: This amendment is not to overthrow the American Government. It is intended to give the people the power that the founding fathers would have if today’s technology would have existed. There are many ideas to add and challenges to overcome to make a change such as this. The people need to take control of this country and this is a way to start. If any represented official does not agree with this idea then they do not truly represent you.

I believe "Direct Democracy" is the ideal governmental form...when its time comes.

We The American People have a lot of Evolution Of Our Character to achieve, before it can work as it should and could.

The right Education is essential to this Evolving Of Ourselves...Individual by Individual. When enough of Us change to have greater strength of character, that enables Us to conduct Our Direct Democracy Responsibilities as We should, then will We be the Enlightened Majority that guides America to its True Destiny.

The only way We can tell when We have achieved that Majority is when We can see each other, through technology, and know that We are ready to assume this profound step in the history of Humanity.

This web site, built by Dan Jeff, has the potential to be the place where We The New American People can see each other and know Our State of Strength regarding these matters.

I believe I have started the Evolutionary Journey that will increase my personal strength as a participating Citizen Of America. That is why I will be honored to join this website and blog site in order to begin the participation that is needed to get this moving toward realization in Our Future.

I add my voice to Dan's call to become Our Own Government. Join here and practice studying the issues and expressing your opinions on them. Then when an opportunity to vote comes here, do so. Participate in the polls. Add your personal strength to the petitions and amendments. In this way can We become More and Better toward this ideal form of Human Government.
There is work to do here at the Direct Democracy Center.

Hey Dan? Where are the deserved participators of this site? This is a great site and it causes me concern that it gets no more traffic than it is getting.

There are important issues, regarding Direct Democracy to discuss here.

People reporting any progress in their Life Zones would be great to see here.

For example, last Wednesday the "Sonora Direct Democracy Discussion Group" held its first humble meeting. Eight People came and began to share their interest and concerns in this wonderful social idea. Some are interested in Direct Democracy as applied in the Occupy Movement. Others are wondering what its role will be in linking up to diverse issued and various web sites and non-profit organizations.

My mind, right now, is busy wrapping around the potentials for American and Humanity of this concept.

Dan? Do you have a way in this website to enable other "bloggers" to submit their work? Such might encourage and gain this site more content...making it More and Better.

I think they might have gone ot a site which is a bit more erudite, can spell properly and actually argue properly rather than just make banal statements and then step back and look at their own creations in glory as if they are wise and profound.

Because looking in from the outside, I don't see a site worthy of participation here.

I haven't read all that much here but there are Thomas Jefferson "quotes" that have all been made up. There is a preponderance of spelling and grammatical mistakes (not just the comments).

You call for a constitutional change to abolish the two-party system - whereas I don't think the word "party" is even IN the constitution. It certainly doesn't go on about a two-party system - this is something that just developed of its own accord.

But in all reality, with less than half the American citizenry turning up and actually VOTING, what else do you expect. The call for direct democracy is a waste of time.

Direct Democracy, as a Government Of The People, For The People and BY The People would be the best fulfillment of American Potential to Truly become a very great nation.

This Social Evolution, should it succeed, would please God mightily, because, ideally, it would eliminate the rule of the "few" over the "Many" and lead to a balanced inclusive culture that enables Individuals to "Be All They Can Be"...but within the parameters of Wise Limitations in the rewards for success.

Of course Most of We The People would have to discuss and decide these things.

I have never given up my Love of the Idea of "Direct Democracy", but somehow I lost touch with Dan Jeff's site here.

I didn't recognize this site until I clicked to here...this Blog Page of Dan's.

I came here from the main "Direct Democracy Center" and its blazing blue field. The whole site seems to have grown and that makes me happy.

That is good strength Dan, allowing critical comments like Peter Deane's. Well done.

Anyway. It is good to have found my way back here. Hang in there.

DIRECT DEMOCRACY AND NO MORE DELEGATES HISTORY

It is true most of our founding fathers were afraid rabble rousers would and could overthrow the government because the majority of the population had very little education. But today it is the law to get an education, so it's time to get rid of delegates, because they are no longer needed, especially if you make college free.

I remember when I was a kid and my father always y=telling me about PROPAGANDA from all the countries that we didn't agree with, just to find out that our government pumps out like 10 mtimes more propaganda than any country in the world. We have like 50 times more media outlets than the rest of the world

Interesting comments Bobbymagee. Thanks for sharing them. It is good to see this bit of activity here.

I have to ask: What does it tell Us about the Constitutional Founding Fathers, that they feared the People they were supposedly trying to help?

I see that they were not really OF WE The People, at least not the Worker/Middle Class...that they needed to "organize".

They did unlock and even open a few doors for Us though. Openings We can use as We Progress to a better state of being.

And they did open the Preamble with a strong reference to WE The People. I see that as a call to become More and Better. They, the Founding Fathers can't do it for Us. We have to do Our Growing, Individual by Individual.

I think one of the most important parts of Good Education is the learning of how to recognize the Truth. The study of propaganda techniques would help Us a lot in this responsibility. Trying to understand Individuals who want to believe "lies" is important too. The skill of lying is quite a subject in itself.
